raw food diet for my dog, need advice please?
I have a puppy of 14 weeks, and itchy all the time! I have ruled out fleas mites, etc with the vet and have been using a puppy kibble and give some bones, but not many. Basically I want to change it a raw food diet, but I'm not really sure where to start … A proportion of each type of food you should take with each meal? Like 30% protein, 30% of oats or whatever? Have you been doing some research online, but everyone seems to have different advice. I was thinking of something like 30% of oats, rice integral, potatoes 30% cooked vegetables, carrots, corn, celery (sure what else? no) 40% meat (not sure what the best option for this?) that have been taking a lamb from the bone marrow once a week to chew and clean teeth, but as a meal I'm not sure what to give him for serving meat … Basically I just need to know the amounts of each type of food and what is the best kind to give as well … Thanks in advance!
I have a boxer 3 years has been in the raw diet for about a year, and honestly, I love it! My Maximus does not complain either:) When I was about 1 1 / 2, started break into hives and started to itch like crazy. Like you, I ruled everything first (fleas, etc.), but was still itching. I had not changed his food, so I do not think it was a food allergy. I started doing my research and discovered that most allergies in dogs did not become apparent until about 1-3 years of age. I was making fresh chicken, and also gives the halo instead of cooked chicken, so I stopped that and moved him to duck blue desert buffalo but he was still dating (in any case, the duck made it worse)! I went to the natural balance lamb meal and rice. natural balance dog food so great with allergies because it is an ingredient kibble very limited, and most flavors are made with sweet potatoes instead of grain, most are known to be allergic dog. The only reason it was not a sweet potato with my Maximus wanted nothing to do with any of the flavors of sweet potato (which is a very demanding high, and that's an understatement)! Any that also did my research on raw foods and decided to go with different natures raw foods. I rotate between lamb, beef and beef deer (his favorite). As I said before, is a very demanding but high living of these things. I do however still can give. I rotate between meat being 95% and lamb and Merrick before grain buffalo and calluses. I know this is a very ling answer but just wanted to make u raise ur research and trying to help you find what is good for your puppy. It can be expensive, but in my opinion, my baby is worth it. He's happy that makes me happy:) If you're going to tell all the raw materials go for it. Oh, and I work at a pet store and we just had an impressive demonstration of a dog food called dr. Harveys. U really should check it out. All grains, dehydrated vegetables and fruit so all u have to do is add water and meat. It even tells you how much meat or to add, and if u do not want to add cereal grains, which has one called bowling greens, which is another great option. Pure plant is outstanding for all u do is add the meat. Really I hope this helps. Good luck!
