Raw foods are sauces (you've heard this phrase before) delicious and nutritious. For example, my recipe for food Fettuccine Alfredo dresses raw zucchini ribbons transparent light green with a sauce made with cashews, soaked and a savory blend of spices. Believe me, you do not miss cream or butter (or fat and calories).
If you like green sauces instead of white, try my food raw pesto. Like the original, my recipe calls for basil, olive oil, garlic, salt and pine nuts. The only difference is that the pine nuts are raw instead of roasted.
A my favorite sauce recipes raw foods is the Mock Peanut Sauce I created for raw foods easier for 1 or 2 people. Traditionally, this sauce calls for roasted peanuts, but I use raw almond butter instead. In addition to retaining more nutrients, I think the butter raw almond actually tastes better in the recipe.
You can make your own almond butter or purchase it in stores. Just be sure to pick butter raw almonds.
Mock Peanut Sauce
* 1 / 2 cup raw almond butter
* 1 / 4 cup water
1 tablespoon juice fresh lemon
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
* 2 teaspoons tamari
* 1 / 2 teaspoon minced garlic
* 1 / 4 teaspoon grated of fresh ginger
* Dash cayenne
* Pinch of salt
* Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth
This simple sauce raw food can be kept for up to five days in the refrigerator. Drizzle over your favorite vegetables for lunch or dinner or use it as a sauce to add an Asian touch to the crudités his serve at your next party.
